What up lovelies? How’s your week so far ? Mine is quite heavy on concentration in terms of driving lessons. If you’re not following me on Twitter, you wouldn’t know how much I whine about it every now and then. And yes I know, I shouldn’t … So hopefully, I’d be passing it very soon .. I really hope so, because this has been going on for a year and so now. Anyway, today’s post is still on my Autumn Haul — saga if you will (lol). I’ll be sharing with you what I purchased on Tam Beauty site (there’s just so much to buy on that site … sigh), and my first purchase of organic makeup from Mondebio site.
Makeup Revolution / Freedom Makeup
So I made my third purchase on Tam Beauty, for more palettes and some lippies to add in my collection.
MUR Blush Palette Blush Queen
I didn’t have any blush in my makeup collection yet, even though I’m very fond of using them. I wanted to try different shades aside from red which is my one and only blush color for a very long time. So this is a game changer really. For some time now, I was able to use this palette on different looks, all I can say is that, I tend to dab my powder brush at least twice for it to work on my skin. This can be the downside, but for the price tag, it’s worth the purchase.
MUR Mermaids Forever Palette vs MUR Freedom Pro Decadence Palette Rock n’ Roll
I wanted to have brighter colors in my makeup collection, this is why I bought the Mermaids Forever palette. I also bought a Freedom palette to see if there’s a difference between the 2 brands despite being created by the same creators. That being said, I can say that MUR eyeshadow palettes are powdery while the Freedom ones are creamy, and in terms of price, there’s no difference really. These palettes cost me €8.40 each. Oh, and another thing, I’m not sure if all the packaging are the same but the Freedom palette that I bought takes time to open.. just so you know.
Freedom Pro Vamp Noir Collection Lipstick
Lastly, I got myself a lippie set for €7.01. The price tag is insane I know. They’re pretty decent, good for daily use although the darker colors tend to be patchy on application. When I do use the darker colors I put over another brand with the same shade and it usually does the trick.
Here are some of the looks I made with my new palettes and lippies …
In a nutshell …
I had played a lot of times with my MUR palettes and I can finally draw a conclusion regarding this brand.
If you’re a beginner like I am, and you’re looking for a cheap way to build up your makeup collection or a cheap way to experiment on different looks, then this brand is the best way to achieve that (MUR/Freedom Makeup I mean).
However, as I learn from my experiments I notice that it’s not the best palettes out there.. well that’s a given. As I mentioned before MUR palettes powdery, Freedom ones are creamy but both formulas are hard to work with, you’ll have to put a lot for some color to show, thus giving you a hard time to blend them out.
Their lipsticks are worth it though, at least the normal ones… now, will I repurchase them? I’m not too sure, but again, if you want to build up your makeup collection, this is the right path.
Avril Cosmetics & Benecos
Avril is a French Cosmetics brand, creator of organic cosmetics since 2012. They stand by 4 main values: quality, ecology, price and service. They also guarantee at least 95% of the total ingredients are natural or at least from natural origin. Evidently, they do not conduct tests on animals.
Benecos, on the other hand is a German Cosmetics brand, much like Avril the price tag of their products are pretty much affordable but with more approach to modern and elegant packaging.
As you may have noticed, I’m more inclined to use natural products on my skin. Before purchasing the Avril foundation, I have been using the Colour Enhancer from Lush as my foundation as it is, obviously made from natural ingredients. I’m not prone to acne but I’m really careful on what I apply on my face (forehead, cheeks & chin).
This foundation has medium coverage if blended properly, so far I’m loving the formula as it is very lightweight on the skin.
I also bought a Benecos mascara to try, as the applicator is quite intriguing (please excuse me for not taking a photo because I don’t intend to use it now).
Anyway this is it for now. Have you made any makeup purchases recently? If so, do tell me about it.
