Everybody has that brand that they swear by, mine is pretty much Lush, at the present at least. I love this brand for simple ethical reasons : animal cruelty free, natural & handmade products & environment conscious.
As much as I love this brand, not all products work, and there are some of their products that didn’t go well with me.
This cleanser/makeup remover works perfectly. It removes whatever kind of makeup you have on instantly, something like a coconut oil will do. Why this is a thumbs down for me is the fact that it’s so greasy and not easy to take off. The few times I used this, I had to use another cleanser (soft exfoliant) to remove the excess product, even that, is not enough … Luckily there’s facial toner in my ritual.
So I tried this rinse-off body lotion because my favorite Dream Cream was out of stock. This product is so pricey that I didn’t dare buy it before, but I was able to because the shop was having promotion. The idea of not having a hard time putting on your pants after applying some lotion definitely sounded good to me. Don’t get me wrong, this body lotion feels moisturizing like how it claims it to be, the problem is, the excess product which suppose to keep your skin moisturized feels uncomfortable. It felt heavy and somewhat dirty. I’m going to spare you the details but this is a thumbs down for me.
Angels on Bare Skin
My current cleanser : Let the Good Times Roll is a bit harsh on my skin to be used often so I went on and bought Angels on Bare Skin which is a milder cleanser. A big mistake. Days after using it, I sort of had an allergic reaction to it, my eyes itched like hell, even eye drops didn’t help. I thought it was the smoke (my bf smokes a lot) but I noticed that it happens whenever I wash my face using this cleanser. I immediately stopped using it for my face but I don’t like wasting so I’m’using it as body soap. Second reason why this didn’t work out for me is the consistency if we can call it that … This is difficult to apply on the skin, it’s chunky so a lot of product is wasted.
Jasmine & Henna Fluff-Ease
FYI, I did a first impressions blogpost on this product and thought that it was my favorite. Sadly though, a few weeks after use my dandruff came back … and much worse than the last time which I worked hard to cure. This is the sole reason why this product is not for me.
This too has been in my facial ritual for the past 4 months I’d say. It worked really well into curing my temporary skin problem so it was not that bad really. What I didn’t like about this product is the texture/consistency which I also mentioned in my review. It just wasn’t the perfect moisturizing cream for me.
Disclaimer: I would like to clarify that this is not some critic on the brand, just a personal opinion on products that didn’t work out for me specifically. So if there’s any chance that some of these products do work out for you, then, I’m glad that it does. We should not forget that we are all different, in terms of skin type.
Do you love Lush like I do? Are there products that just weren’t made for you?
