I’m that type of makeup addict that doesn’t want to spend much on makeup brushes, but when something really catches my eyes, I can just throw away 30 bucks on a single brush, you get what I mean?
It’s been a year since I got really interested on full-on makeup : foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush etc. And not just eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. I don’t even want to think about calculating my makeup collection right now because I know, oh yes I know, I could’ve saved those cash instead. Anyway, I’m not talking about regrets here (you thought so?) no, no, how could I regret buying something that I feel passionate about? Not gonna happen.
As I was saying on my first sentence, which was about the blogpost I’m tackling — makeup brushes! I’ve always thought, how can someone spend, let’s say, $30 on a single brush? And say, the brush in question is just a tiny blending brush for eyeshadow? I mean how? This time I understood why.
Don’t get me wrong, I have a dozen of makeup brushes but they all cost under $10. I have 3 that are more or less expensive, my giant powder brush from Sephora and the others from Real techniques. I came to a conclusion that there are really times, you have to let go of being stingy and buy things that work. Not that I’m saying my ELF brushes don’t work, they’re fine but they don’t work for everything.
This is when I talk about Mikasa Beauty, to be honest, I haven’t heard of this brand before they hit me a message. Some of you might think that this is a sponsored blogpost, uhm, no, I’m not that famous to be sponsored by brands. Anyway, they sent me discount code so I could try their products and get their /famous / lemon drop beauty blender for free. Okay, why not, I was in need of some serious eye makeup brushes anyway. I got myself an eyeliner brush, blending brush and a highlighter brush (contour brush officially).
At the end I paid $40, which is a good price actually, but I told you how I am, I kind of regretted it as soon as I hit payment. I dint cancel my order though, I was even excited, because yes finally some decent eye brushes and highlighter brush.
My first impression upon receiving these brushes was the quality. For a mid-range price point, you do get some quality luxurious brushes if I dare say.
After testing them out, plus the free beauty blender which really perfected my foundation application, it completely changed my makeup game. Frankly speaking, my eyeshadow palettes seem to work better, highlighting powder on point on as well!
I’m in love with the brushes I own for the mean time, though I’d love to test out their oval brushes as well. If you guys want some soft brushes, save a few bucks by using my code : GENUINEDROPBLOG25 and get 25% off your purchase.
Do you own brushes from this brand? What are your thoughts on them?
