Pixi Beauty has been around for over 10 years now and was created by Petra Strand. Originally an English brand, their very first boutique is in Soho, London.
Pixi’s mission is the same now as it was on the first day the Pixi store opened: simply to bring out the natural beauty in all women – to make women look like themselves, only better.
This brand is firstly 100% animal cruelty free, though it is not entirely a natural cosmetics line, at least 97% of the ingredients they use are safe (well that’s just an estimation on my part) and derived from natural ingredients.
Some of their products are even vegan, here’s a list of those products in question.
Pixi Beauty Personal Experience
Over the past year, I have discovered so many brands, I’m only interested in brands that use natural (and organic) ingredients though in terms of skincare, however when it comes to makeup, it’s more complicated.
For base, I only use vegan products (mostly) whenever it’s not possible, I always make sure to put enough moisturizer on my face before slapping whatever product on. For the rest of my makeup routine, since, I love almost every makeup brand out there, I make sure that they’re always animal cruelty free at least.
My first ever purchase on Pixi Beauty site consisted of :
- Endless Brow Gel Pen (Medium)
- Endless Silky Eye Pen (Black Cocoa)
- Lash & Brow brush
- Flawless & Poreless Primer
- Flawless Beauty Fluid(Cream, Warm)
- Glow-y Powder (Santorini Sunset)
I tend to use their fluid foundation lightly for a natural & dewy finish, so if you’re looking for something that’s full-coverage, this is not for you. Even though this gives you a natural look, it’s not long-lasting. But I think it can last up to 8 hours, well in my case.
As for the face primer, I fell in love the first time I used it, it does what it says, mattifies and keeps the pores hidden.
I also love the highlighter, I think it’s my favorite !
As much as I love this brand, there are some products that didn’t really please me. Though the eyeliner is pigmented, it smudges easily whenever I try to smoke it out.
For the first time, I wanted to try eyebrow pencil for a change but I think this one didn’t suit me, every time I use it I had to sharpen it and it’s not easy to shape my brows with it.
What do you think about this brand? Do you love it like I do ?
