Having the right skincare products is extremely important, that’s the basic rule. You have to get products that suit your skin type then choose products that you trust. Honestly, when it comes to facial toner, I currently don’t have favorites. I’m 23 years old and the first time I really paid attention to full skincare was at 21.
My first facial toners were from The Body Shop, I had the gentle toner with Aloe extracts in it and the one with Vitamin E. Now, the first one seemed normal, I’m not really sure hot to describe it but it seemed to me, that I paid a toner just to say I’m using one, even though it’s not actually working. But then, I thought, maybe it wasn’t the right toner for my skin type so I went ahead and had the beauty expert in the shop examine my skin, thus advising me to use products with Vitamin E and so I did. I’m glad this happened, because if not I wouldn’t have had any doubts on some of The Body Shop products. That second toner I bought was awful, each time I used it, I had burning sensations, at first I thought it was normal, but then, I told myself, “this definitely has alcohol in it or something similar” so I ditched those products and moved on.
Maybe you’re just passing by, and might now know my skincare principles or policies or you can call them what you like. Just so you know, I only use products that are either made from natural ingredients or (are) organic/vegan and most of all, animal cruelty-free. This is at least in terms of my skincare products and hair products if I may add.
After my experience with the Body Shop skincare products, I turned to Lush (yes I know you all know the story if not, do check out my first ever post on this brand). I will not talk about every product that I’ve tried from their brand but I will tell you my experience on their toners. I’ve used Eau Roma and Tea Tree Water, I can’t say I didn’t like them but well, I don’t think they deserve to be called toners per se, since they don’t actually work like one. I loved using them whenever I wanted to awaken my skin or just simply freshen myself. Another downside about these toner is the amount of product that comes out when you spray it on your face, it really does wet your face, so nope, not these either.
Recently, I got myself a monthly subscription box (check them out here) for organic skincare products and guess what I received? A full size toner right off the first box.
Centifolia | Moisturising Toner
It’s a French organinc skincare brand that started out in 1983.
I love brands that put love on their products and regard nature with respect.
Right off the bat, I knew that I would like this toner because of its name “Moisturising toner”, I just love it when the product is moisturizing.
The Ginkgo Biloba is a tree native to Asia. It is the oldest known family of trees, dating back 27 billion years. The leaves of this majestic tree are characterised by their high concentration of flavonoids, which are major sources of antioxidants. That is why Centifolia decided to include this extract in its toner. For the well-being of your skin, the Centifolia moisturising toner has been formulated with Hamamelis floral water, a natural wonder renowned for its soothing and astringent properties. It gently tones the skin and removes traces of make-up. Thanks to the combination of its hydrating and emollient agents, the toner leaves the skin soft and perfectly moisturised. Formulated without alcohol, it does not irritate the eyes and is not harsh on delicate skin. The skin is fresh, clear and comfortable.

Base on the claims on this products according to the brand’s website, there’s no way I would refute. It doesn’t have alcohol in it, it’s natural and organic, it definitely refreshes my skin, makes it clear and toned and above all, it’s moisturizing.
Would I recommend this product? Definitely! Would I purchase this for myself ? The question doesn’t even need to be asked because I totally would.
How about you, what’s your favorite facial toner?
