It has been almost two weeks now ever since I ended my roadtrip (if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you can catch up here) – to my regret. In this blogpost, I will be talking about the first hotel where I stayed in during the trip which is located in Lyon.
On the map …
Hotel Tâggat is in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon. I booked the hotel via Booking.com for €52 the night, which is a pretty good deal for me not too cheap yes but not too pricey either – an opinion for someone who works in a hotel. Considering its location, this rate is even more acceptable as it is just 10-15 min walk away from the city center. Again, personally I don’t mind walking because walking = exploring and the several back-and-forths I did during my short stay in Lyon was really worth while.
One thing that made me book this hotel was the reception of course, the reception is the first place we step on, it’s the heart of the hotel. Now, rectify me if the lobby is not the least attractive …
Yep, I told you so.
The staff is kind and nice, the lobby is clean and bright and very relaxing for the guests. The payment is requested upon arrival just so you know.
Moving on to the accommodation, well, it is just the cutest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Yes it is small but very accommodating, there’s enough space for two people. The room is equipped with all the necessities of course: bathroom, toilet, desk, TV, hangers and shelf to arrange your clothes.
I really liked the layout of the room, especially the open shower, first time I’ve ever seen that.
The hotel is an old traditional french building that’s why there’s not much space in general (in the hallway and stairways to be precise). If ever you book this hotel, do not be surprised of the lift, with a small travel bag, a backpack and shopping bag there was just enough space for my boyfriend and I.
Thumbs up or down … ?
Price-wise yes without hesitation.
Location, not that far so yes.
Parking – not on site, nearest parking is called LPA Morand (3-minute walk) I paid €24 from 1pm to 8am.
Accommodation? Although personally I liked this hotel, it may not be suitable for tall people, since it’s an old building, the ceiling is pretty low, my boyfriend got hurt and cut his head (nothing serious) when getting up … so be warned.
Tell me what you think, would you stay in this hotel?
