Going on a quick getaway after weeks and months of hard work is very satisfying. But if planning and booking Is not stressful enough, to add on to that pressure is packing. We need to make sure we have everything we need for an unforgettable trip. We just have that endless question of ‘what to bring?’
In this blog post, I will be sharing my top ten ‘must pack’ in a carry on. In Europe, everything is practically an hour or two away by plane and we just rely on our hand luggage for a quick getaway.
1. COSMETIC AND TOILETRIES
Make up and toiletries are a must. I would advise you to have two separate small pouches where you can keep your 1) liquids 2) non-liquid / cosmetic/ toiletries. For liquids make sure it is in a small clear plastic bag, for hassle free travelling. It will be easier for security check and you won’t have to delay the queue.
Another tip is instead of buying small travel size toiletries, buy small travel toiletries bottles, available in your local pharmacy or supermarkets. Just transfer your favourite lotions, shampoos or body gels and you have your reusable toiletries bottle. Don’t forget to label them.
2. ELECTRONICS
Portable chargers, headphones are a must when travelling. Organise all electronics into another pouch. Make sure you have a portable charger, a plug for your charge, an adapter (if needed), USB cables and headphones. Those are the main things that you will be needing for a short entertaining travel.
3. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Travelling around Europe is easy because you just need an ID or a passport. Make sure you have your travel documents, ready with you, boarding passes, accommodation information and transport information etc.
4. WALLET
I don’t have to say this but make sure you have your wallets with you. Have cards and maybe other currencies ready in it.
5. SNACKS
I love eating who doesn’t? And getting hungry while waiting to board is the worst feeling ever. Bring some of your favourite snacks, like crackers and candies. Also have gum ready when taking off.
6. CAMERA
Don’t forget your camera. Make sure you have enough space on your SD card (preferably transferring photos to your computer in advance to make room for new memories). If you’re the over prepared type, bring an extra SD for emergency. Who knows what could happen.
7. MINI FIRST AID KIT
Make sure to bring a mini first aid kid for unforeseen circumstances. Have your medicine ready in a small pouch; from headache med to cough meds and allergy meds. Make sure to have at least 2 tablets with you each, who knows, it might save you or a friend.
Now onto actual Items that I will have to have when travelling
8. SUNGLASSES
I love sunglasses. I just have one in my bag everywhere I go. It’s not just a fashion item but also has other purpose like blocking out the sun or covering eye bags.
9. LIP BALM
What’s as bad as having dry skin? It’s having dry, chapped lips. Having dry lips makes one look sickly. So having a lip balm with me at all times is a must. My all-time favourite is Vaseline lip therapy; Aloe Vera or Rosy Lip, which gives you that extra pink tint.
If you wanna know more about this collection, go and check out swatches and review about them here.
10. MOISTURISER
I have dry skin, so I always have a moisturiser with me. My go to moisturiser is Nivea Soft moisturiser. It has a multi-purpose use, for hands, body and face. I could never go out without it.
I hope this has been helpful and Enjoy your next travel adventure!
